Job Description:

Master Data & Supply Chain Systems Analyst (Dynamics 365 F&O)

Location: Remote (aligned to HQ time zone)
Duration: 6-month contract
Industry: Publicly traded company

About the Role

Search Group Solutions the fastest growing staffing and recruiting firm in the USA is seeking a highly skilled Master Data & Supply Chain Systems Analyst to lead and execute master data management across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). This role goes beyond day-to-day item master maintenance. We need someone who can flex between hands-on work, process design, documentation, data governance, testing, and cross-functional coordination in a public-company environment.

You will own item master accuracy, design workflows and controls where F&O functionality is limited, support product launches, and build efficient processes that ensure data integrity across supply chain, finance, commercial, and operations. This includes laying out scalable data governance, documenting standards, validating data before regulatory filings, and ensuring accuracy when systems or timelines force products to move ahead of master data setup.

The ideal candidate is both technical and operational: someone who understands how master data should function in a modern public company, knows where ERP limitations require alternative solutions, and can design and document processes that business users can follow reliably.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Ownership & Execution

  • Own and administer the item master within Dynamics 365 F&O for all finished goods, raw materials, packaging, and related SKUs.
  • Create, update, validate, and maintain item records, including attributes, UoMs, BOMs, statuses, and classifications.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness across item master and supply chain data.
  • Manage and validate master data change requests across supply chain, commercial, ops, and finance.

Process Design, Governance & Documentation

  • Define, document, and optimize master data workflows, approvals, validations, naming conventions, and governance standards.
  • Develop efficient processes when F&O functionality is limited (e.g., lack of item-master workflows).
  • Design governance frameworks that scale with growth and meet public-company compliance expectations.
  • Establish best-practice documentation for workflows, approval processes, data standards, and change management.

Systems Configuration & Technical Flexibility

  • Collaborate with supply chain, IT, operations, and finance to ensure F&O configuration aligns with business requirements.
  • Understand where third-party tools (e.g., Ataccama) may add value and when lower-cost solutions (e.g., Power Automate flows) are more practical.
  • Build or support the development of custom workflows, validations, and automations using tools available to the business.
  • Assist with ERP improvements, testing, and troubleshooting as needed.

Reporting, Testing & Compliance

  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards related to inventory, item performance, master data quality, and KPIs.
  • Conduct pre-filing testing and reconciliation for remittance-related reporting to ensure accuracy before submissions (critical in regulated industries).
  • Support internal audit, SOX, compliance reviews, and documentation requirements tied to master data and inventory.

Cross-Functional Support & Product Lifecycle Coordination

  • Support new item setup, product launches, discontinuations, and urgent commercial or ops requests.
  • Manage scenarios where product timelines advance ahead of master data setup, ensuring backloaded data still lands cleanly and accurately.
  • Provide clear communication and guidance to business users around process, requirements, timing, and validation expectations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in master data, supply chain systems, ERP administration, or similar functional roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 F&O, preferably with item master, supply chain, or inventory modules.
  • Strong understanding of master data structures, item governance, and public-company data requirements.
  • Experience building workflows, governance structures, or automations (Power Automate a plus; Ataccama exposure ideal but not required).
  • Ability to document processes clearly, communicate expectations, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and drive accuracy.
  • BI/reporting experience (dashboards, recurring reporting, data validation).
  • Ability to work independently and flex across multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.

Contract Details

  • Term: 6 months, with potential for extension
